At a glance
  • We collect what our apps need to work — device and usage data, the audio you choose to process and the messages you send us — plus the analytics and advertising data described in sections 4 and 5, which on Android we collect only if you allow it.
  • We do not ask for an account, a name or an email address to use our apps, and we never see your payment details — on iOS, Apple handles every purchase.
  • On Android, Google Play handles every purchase in the same way — we never see your payment details there either.
  • On Android, the app asks every user, wherever they are, before turning on analytics or advertising measurement: both stay off until you choose, and you can change your choice at any time in the app under Settings › Privacy choices.
  • Audio you process is used solely to produce your result. It is not sold, not shared for advertising and not used to build a profile of you.
  • You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to info@vividup.tech.
01Scope

Who we are and what this policy covers

Vividup FZE (“Vividup”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is a software company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We develop, publish and support consumer applications for iPhone, iPad and Android, including Vocal Remover: Music Separator, and we operate the website vividup.tech (the “Website”). Our applications and the Website are together referred to as the “Services”.

Our apps are also available for Android devices, distributed through Google Play. Unless a section below says otherwise, everything in this policy applies equally to the iOS and Android versions of our apps.

This policy explains what personal data we collect through the Services, why we collect it, who we share it with and what choices you have. Vividup FZE is the data controller for the processing described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.

Some of our products also have their own website (for example thevocalremover.com). This policy applies to those websites as well, unless a page there states otherwise.

02Collection

Information we collect

Our apps are designed to work without an account. We do not ask for your name, email address or password to use them. The information we collect falls into three groups.

Information you give us

When you contact us — by email, through a support form or by replying to a message — we receive your email address, the contents of your message and any attachments or screenshots you include. When you leave a review or rating on the App Store, Apple shows it to us under the name you chose to publish it with. When you leave a review or rating on Google Play, Google shows it to us in the same way.

Information collected automatically

When you use our apps or visit the Website, we and the service providers listed in section 5 collect technical information about your device and how the Services are used. This includes:

  • device model, operating system and version, language and region, screen size and time zone;
  • app version, installation and update events, and in-app events such as the screens you open, the features you use, errors and crash reports;
  • a pseudonymous installation identifier created by the app and, on Android, a Firebase user ID created when the app signs in anonymously to Google Firebase (no account is created); these identifiers do not reveal your name but are linked to your device, so we treat them as personal data; and, only if you allow it through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA);
  • on Android, your device’s Google Advertising ID, only if you turn on Advertising in the app (it is off until you choose, wherever you are); you can also delete the identifier or turn off ads personalisation in your device’s Settings (see section 11);
  • your approximate location (country or region) derived from your IP address; we do not collect precise GPS location;
  • on the Website, your IP address, browser type, referring page and the pages you visit.

Purchase information

On iOS, all subscriptions and in-app purchases are made through Apple. Apple collects and processes your payment details; we never receive your card number or billing address. What we do receive from Apple is a transaction record — the product purchased, the price tier, the currency, the date, the renewal status and a pseudonymous transaction identifier — so that we can unlock the features you paid for, honour trials and refunds, keep our accounts and measure the performance of our advertising campaigns (see sections 4 and 5).

On Android, all subscriptions and in-app purchases are made through Google Play. Google collects and processes your payment details; we never receive your card number or billing address. What we receive from Google is the same kind of transaction record — the product purchased, the price tier, the currency, the date, the renewal status and a purchase token or order number — for the same purposes.

Device permissions

Our apps may ask for access to your media library, files, microphone or camera, and to send push notifications. Each permission is requested only when the related feature needs it and can be changed at any time in your device’s Settings. On Android, permissions can also be reviewed and changed in Settings → Apps. We do not read content you have not explicitly chosen to open in the app.

03Audio

Audio you process in our apps

Some of our apps, such as Vocal Remover, separate a song into its individual parts using artificial intelligence. To do this, the audio file you choose (or the audio track of a video you choose) is uploaded to our processing servers, analysed by our models and returned to your device as separate tracks.

  • Purpose only. Your audio is used solely to produce the result you asked for. We do not listen to it, publish it, sell it or use it to advertise to you.
  • Short retention. Uploaded audio and the generated tracks are kept on our servers only as long as needed to process the file and deliver the result to your device, plus a short technical buffer to allow retries. They are then deleted automatically. The results you keep are stored on your own device.
  • No training on your files. We do not use audio you submit to train or improve our models.
  • Your responsibility. You must hold the rights needed to process the audio you submit. See our Terms & Conditions for details.
04Purposes

How we use information and on what legal basis

We use the information described above for the following purposes. Where the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection applies, the legal basis we rely on is shown for each purpose.

Provide the Services
Run the apps, process your audio, unlock purchased features, deliver updates. Performance of a contract.
Support
Answer your messages and investigate problems. Performance of a contract; legitimate interests.
Stability and security
Detect abuse, fraud and unauthorised access, apply usage limits and keep our infrastructure secure, using the installation ID and, on Android, the Firebase user ID and Google Play Integrity checks (Firebase App Check) that confirm requests come from a genuine copy of the app. Legitimate interests; legal obligation.
Product improvement
Understand which features are used, measure performance, detect and fix crashes and prioritise development, using aggregated or pseudonymised data (on Android, from Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics). On Android, this happens only if you turn on Analytics in the app — it is off until you choose — and you can turn it off at any time under Settings › Privacy choices. Consent on Android; legitimate interests on iOS.
Marketing measurement
Measure and improve the performance of our advertising campaigns and attribute installs and purchases, with partners such as Adjust and Meta (see section 5). On iOS, the advertising identifier is used only where you have allowed tracking. On Android, this happens only after you turn on Advertising in the app; it is off until you choose, wherever you are (see section 11). Consent.
Legal compliance
Keep accounting records, respond to lawful requests, handle copyright notices, enforce our terms. Legal obligation; legitimate interests.

We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not sell personal data for money. However, when you turn on Advertising in the Android app, or allow tracking on iOS, we send advertising data to our advertising partners, such as Meta, which also uses it for its own purposes; under US state privacy laws this may count as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. See section 10 for how to opt out.

05Sharing

Who we share information with

We share personal data only with the recipients below, and only to the extent needed for the purposes described in this policy. Our service providers (such as Google for Firebase, Adjust and the providers that host our servers) process data only on our instructions and must protect it. Apple, Google (for Google Play) and Meta use the data they receive as independent companies, for their own purposes and under their own privacy policies.

Apple
Distributes our iOS apps through the App Store, processes all purchases and subscriptions made on iOS, and delivers push notifications. Apple acts under its own privacy policy.
Google
Distributes our Android apps through Google Play, processes all purchases and subscriptions made on Android, and provides the Google Play services and Firebase tools that our apps use for analytics, crash reporting and push notifications. For Firebase, Google processes data on our instructions; for Google Play, Google acts under its own privacy policy.
Cloud infrastructure
Providers of the servers and GPU capacity on which our audio processing and backend run. They hold data only transiently while a job is processed.
Subscription management
A platform that validates App Store receipts and tracks subscription status so that your purchase is recognised across reinstalls and devices. On Android, Google Play purchases are validated directly by Google Play and our own backend.
Analytics and crash reporting
Tools that aggregate usage events and crash reports so we can improve stability and understand how features are used.
Advertising measurement
Our mobile measurement and advertising partners, such as Adjust and Meta (Facebook), which tell us whether an install or purchase came from one of our campaigns and help us improve our ads on Meta’s platforms. On Android, they receive data only if you turn on Advertising in the app: your Google Advertising ID, your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device information, and app events such as installs, trial starts and purchases. Adjust processes this data on our behalf; Meta also uses it for its own purposes under its own privacy policy. On iOS, the advertising identifier is shared only where you have allowed tracking (see section 11).
Email and support tooling
The providers that host our mailboxes and support inbox.
Legal and corporate
Authorities, courts, advisers and, in the event of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, the successor entity — always subject to this policy.

We do not display third-party advertising inside our apps and we do not operate “offer walls” or similar reward schemes.

06Transfers

International transfers

Vividup FZE is established in the United Arab Emirates. Our Website is hosted in Switzerland, and our audio processing and backend services run on cloud infrastructure that may be located in the European Union, the United States or other countries where our providers operate.

When personal data of residents of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland is transferred to a country that has not been recognised as providing adequate protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK and Swiss addenda), together with technical measures such as encryption in transit. You can ask us for more information about these safeguards using the contact details in section 15.

07Retention

How long we keep information

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected for, then delete or anonymise it. As a guide:

  • Audio files and generated tracks — deleted from our servers automatically once processing and delivery are complete (see section 3).
  • Usage, analytics and crash data — kept in identifiable form for no longer than 24 months, and in aggregated form thereafter.
  • Support correspondence — kept for up to 24 months after the last exchange, so we can follow up on earlier issues.
  • Transaction records — kept for as long as required by accounting and tax law.
  • Copyright notices and legal correspondence — kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and defend our legal position.

Where deletion is not immediately possible (for example because data sits in a backup), we isolate it from further processing until it can be deleted.

08Security

Security

We apply technical and organisational measures that are appropriate to the data we process: data is encrypted in transit (TLS), access to production systems is limited to the people who need it and protected by strong authentication, processing servers are isolated and short-lived, and we keep our dependencies and infrastructure up to date.

No system is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the relevant authorities where the law requires it.

09Children

Children

Our Services are not directed at children and, under our Terms & Conditions, must not be used by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at info@vividup.tech and we will delete it.

10Rights

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy of it;
  • have inaccurate data corrected and incomplete data completed;
  • have your data deleted, or its processing restricted;
  • object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including profiling, and opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal data and of targeted advertising (on iOS, turn tracking off under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android, turn Analytics and Advertising off in the app under Settings › Privacy choices);
  • receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format;
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing carried out before withdrawal (on iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; on Android in the app under Settings › Privacy choices);
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@vividup.tech from the address you want us to reply to and tell us which app your request concerns. Because our apps do not use accounts, we may ask you for information (such as an App Store receipt, a Google Play order number or the approximate date and time of the activity concerned) to locate the data linked to your device. We respond within one month, or within the period required by applicable law, and we do not charge for requests unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive.

How to request deletion of your data

This applies to all Vividup FZE apps, including Vocal Remover: Music Separator, on iOS and Android. Our apps do not use accounts, so there is no account to delete; the steps below cover the data described in section 2.

  1. Email info@vividup.tech with the subject “Data deletion request”.
  2. Tell us which app your request concerns and, if you have it, an App Store receipt or a Google Play order number, so we can locate the data linked to your device.
  3. We confirm receipt and complete the deletion within one month, or within the shorter period required by applicable law.

What is deleted: usage and analytics events, crash reports and device identifiers linked to your device, and any support correspondence you ask us to remove. Audio you processed is not kept on our servers: it is deleted automatically once processing is complete (section 3), so there is nothing to delete on request.

What may be kept: transaction records we must retain under accounting and tax law, and correspondence needed to handle a legal claim or a copyright notice, for the periods set out in section 7. Data that has been aggregated or anonymised can no longer be linked to you and is not affected.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland

If you believe we are processing your personal data unlawfully, you can complain to the data protection authority in your country. Contact details for EEA authorities are listed by the European Data Protection Board; in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office; in Switzerland, the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

California and other US states

Residents of California and of other US states with comprehensive privacy laws have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to access and delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information for money. However, on Android, if you turn on Advertising in the app, we share your advertising ID, app events (such as installs, trial starts and purchases) and approximate location with Meta, which also uses this data for its own advertising purposes, and with Adjust, which measures our campaigns on our behalf. On iOS, if you allow tracking when Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt appears, we share your advertising identifier and app usage data with our advertising partners. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar US state laws, this may count as a “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising, or as “targeted advertising”. You can opt out at any time: on Android, turn Advertising off in the app under Settings › Privacy choices (our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” option); on iOS, turn tracking off under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking; or email info@vividup.tech with the subject “Do Not Sell or Share”. California’s “Shine the Light” law also lets California residents request, once a year, a list of the third parties to which we disclosed personal information for their direct marketing purposes; we do not make such disclosures.

United Arab Emirates

Residents of the UAE have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction and objection under Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, which you can exercise using the contact details above.

11Tracking

Tracking, advertising identifiers and Do Not Track

On iOS, our apps only access your device’s advertising identifier if you allow tracking when Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt appears. If you decline, we still measure our campaigns using Apple’s privacy-preserving attribution frameworks, which do not identify you. You can change your choice at any time under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

On Android, our apps may use your device’s Google Advertising ID for the same campaign measurement. When you first open the app, wherever you are, it asks for your privacy choices (Accept all, Reject all or Customize). Analytics (Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics) and Advertising (Adjust, Meta and the advertising ID) stay off, and nothing is sent to our advertising measurement partners, until you turn them on. You can change these choices at any time in the app under Settings › Privacy choices. You can reset or delete this identifier, and turn off ads personalisation, at any time in Settings → Google → Ads (or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device). If you delete the identifier, our apps receive a string of zeros instead of an ID.

We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, as no common standard for them has been adopted. Our apps cannot detect browser-based signals such as Global Privacy Control; to opt out, use the Advertising switch in the Android app or the tracking setting on iOS (see section 10).

12Website

This website and cookies

The Website is an informational site. It uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies to remember your consent choice and to protect against abuse. Any optional analytics cookies are set only after you accept them in the consent banner, and you can change your preferences at any time through the same banner.

Our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, requested page, browser type, timestamp) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are retained for a limited period and are not combined with other data about you.

13Third parties

Third-party links and services

The Services may link to websites, app stores or services operated by others — for example the App Store or Google Play, a streaming platform or a social network. We do not control those services and this policy does not apply to them. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before sharing information with them.

14Changes

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our Services, our providers or the law. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. If a change materially affects how we use your personal data, we will draw your attention to it in the app or on the Website before it takes effect. Continued use of the Services after a change means you accept the updated policy.
